Walter is a compact IoT system-on-module (SoM) that integrates the power of the industry-respected ESP32-S3 microcontroller with a state-of-the-art Sequans GM02SP LTE-M/NB-IoT 5G modem and GNSS receiver.
Designed to deliver versatile wireless connectivity, the Walter supports Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, and cellular communication in a tiny 24.8 x 55 mm footprint- ideal for any IoT project like, sensing, tracking, and control applications, where space and power efficiency matter.

  • Microcontroller: ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R2, dual-core 32-bit LX7 CPU, with 16 MiB quad SPI flash, 2 MiB quad SPI PSRAM
  • Wireless Connectivity:
    • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (150 Mbps) with onboard PCB antenna
    • Bluetooth 5 Low Energy (2 Mbps) with onboard PCB antenna
    • Sequans GM02SP modem:
      • Dual-mode LTE-M / NB-IoT (NB1, NB2), compliant with 3GPP LTE Release 14 - antenna required
      • GNSS receiver supporting GPS and Galileo constellations with LNA + SAW filter - passive U.FL antenna required (Officially supported antenna coming soon)
  • Interfaces and I/O: 24 GPIO pins; UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, I²S, SD available on any GPIO; ADC, DAC, PWM integrated; USB Type-C for programming and debugging; reset button
  • Power Supply: 5.0 V via USB Type-C; 3.0–5.5 V via Vin pin (not to be used simultaneously); ultra-low quiescent current design
  • Power Consumption: Deep sleep current 9.8 µA total (8 µA ESP32-S3, 1 µA GM02SP, 0.8 µA DC-DC & LDO)
  • Size and Form Factor: 24.8 x 55 mm, 2.54 mm pin headers, breadboard friendly, pin- and footprint-compatible with former PyCom GPy module

We deliver Australia-wide with these options (depends on the final destination - you can get a quote on the view cart page):

  • $3+ for Stamped Mail (typically 10+ business days, not tracked, only available on selected small items)
  • $7+ for Standard Post (typically 6+ business days, tracked)
  • $11+ for Express Post (typically 2+ business days, tracked)
  • Pickup - Free! Only available to customers who live in the Newcastle region (must order online and only pickup after we email to notify you the order is ready). Orders placed after 2PM may not be ready until the following business day.

Non-metro addresses in WA, NT, SA & TAS can take 2+ days in addition to the above information.

Some batteries (such as LiPo) can't be shipped by Air. During checkout, Express Post and International Methods will not be an option if you have that type of battery in your shopping cart.

International Orders - the following rates are for New Zealand and will vary for other countries:

  • $12+ for Pack and Track (3+ days, tracked)
  • $16+ for Express International (2-5 days, tracked)

If you order lots of gear, the postage amount will increase based on the weight of your order.
