The Argon ONE UP CM5 Laptop is a specialised chassis engineered specifically to house and power the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5). It transforms the high-performance, industry-focused CM5 module into a fully integrated, portable workstation, featuring a crisp 14-inch IPS display, an integrated battery management system, and a full suite of connectivity options typically reserved for carrier boards.

Developing on, or even using a Compute Module typically requires a specialised setup or a complex arrangement of carrier boards and peripherals, which limits your ability to work in the field. The ONE UP flips the script and provides makers with a form-factor everyone is used to - a laptop, with all of the features we enjoy from Raspberry Pi's single board computers (GPIO Pins, Raspberry Pi OS, and the endless library of projects made for the Pi)

Manufactured from a rigid aluminium alloy, the chassis offers superior structural integrity and acts as part of the thermal management solution. Combined with an active cooling fan and dedicated heatsink, it ensures the CM5 maintains optimal clock speeds during compilation or heavy multitasking. With integrated M.2 NVMe support, it bridges the gap between an embedded development board and a reliable consumer-grade laptop.

This version of the ONE UP contains a CM5 and SSD. We also list the shell separately (BYO CM5 and SSD)

Features

  • Future-Proof Modularity: Extend the lifespan of your device with the replaceable System-on-Module architecture; easily swap the CM5 unit to upgrade RAM or processing power without needing to replace the entire laptop chassis.
  • High-Speed NVMe Storage: Eliminate the performance bottlenecks of standard MicroSD cards by utilising the internal M.2 Key-M slot, enabling rapid booting and high-speed data throughput via PCIe Gen 3.
  • Field-Ready Prototyping: Connect directly to your electronics projects anywhere with the external GPIO pins, allowing you to debug circuits and test hardware without dismantling the case. Keep everything powered with the onboard 55wH LiPo battery and BMS protection.
  • Robust and Considered Design: Maintain peak performance during intensive tasks thanks to the precision-machined aluminium body paired with an integrated active cooling fan and heatsink array. The backlit keyboard ensures that you see what you are typing in the dark.
  • Comprehensive Connectivity: Connect seamlessly to monitors and peripherals with a full-size HDMI port, multiple USB-A ports, and USB-C Power Delivery, removing the need for carrying additional dongles.
