Our Departments

Manufacturing

Production

It's been a dream of ours to bring electronics manufacturing to Newcastle since starting this adventure and in 2020 we took our first steps. Our production hub the "The Factory" is filled with big machines making very tiny electronics. Staffed by our engineers and operators who keep the PCBs coming.

Michael takes the lead in Manufacturing, having joined Core as a fresh-faced engineering student in 2017, he's now the lead product designer and oversees the production of PiicoDev™, Makerverse™, Glowbit™, Slim Circuits™ and any other Core Electronics Original we manufacture.

Tech Support

Support

We don't just provide the tools to build something awesome, we also lend a hand with any hurdles you may experience. Our Technical Support team is available over phone, email and web-chat to help you with your orders and any questions you have.

But if the gremlins in your project are getting you down our forum is the place for you. Our in-house brain trust of knowledgeable makers are standing-by to troubleshoot your issues and get you back on track.

Our support team is helmed by Trent, a passionate maker with a very tiny battle-bot named Deadline... who is adorable.

Logistics

Logistics

Our warehouse features thousands of maker favourites from all the best brands, and our logistics crew make sure they get from our shelves to you. The team are so familiar with our catalogue they can tell a resistors value by smell.

Led by Travis, our Logistics Department handles your order with care, hand-packing, throwing in few extra goodies, sealing up safe and sending it on it's way.

Travis and the team understand how exciting it is to be working on a new project, so they strive to ship your order the same day if it's placed before 2PM.

Purchasing

Purchasing

Keeping on top of our stock levels is the aim of the game for our Purchasing team. Sally and the team liaise with our suppliers to get all the bits and bobs to make your project complete.

Our Purchasing team are also on the lookout for new suppliers and products to include in our catalogue. Scouring the globe for the coolest new tools and tech. We're constantly refreshing the new products page to see what goodies Sally has brought us.

Information Systems

Information Technology

This isn't your typical I.T. Department, real secret squirrel stuff. Led by Aidan, Information Systems create and integrate custom software tools to make the Core Electronics team as efficient as possible.

With the freedom to innovate and experiment with the latest whizz bangs, we maintain an agile approach that allows feedback from our team to result in solutions by that afternoon.

Aidan joined the team in 2016, early in Core Electronics' history, helping shape how we do business... And yes, he has occasionally asked us to try turning it off and on again.

Creative

Creative

Whether it's informative educational content or satiating eye candy, our creative team has had their hands on it. Responsible for producing our maker education guides, we strive to provide you the know-how to get started with the tools in your next order.

We're also dedicated to sharing your success stories as well, our social media content is well curated with projects submitted by the community.

The creative team is led by Luke, who began as a part-time editor, his roles now include video production, social media management, product photography, copywriting, along with the occasional graphic design.
