xTool K9 Crystal Ball Inner Engraving Kit

A UV laser can focus beneath the surface of optical glass and fracture a single point without marking the outside. Repeat that a few hundred thousand times and a three-dimensional scene/object appears, suspended inside a solid glass sphere.

Inner engraving is less about the laser than the rig around it. The blank has to sit dead still and fully submerged, with the oil level held roughly 2mm above the top of the ball. Once everything is coated in engraving oil, glass becomes very difficult to grip safely.

This kit is built around that problem. A graduated glass cup matched to the oil volume of an 80mm ball, a silicone pad to dampen vibration, anti-slip strips for oily hands, and a perforated acrylic tray on a metal stand so the finished ball lifts straight out rather than being fished for. The fixture is reusable, and the oil can be reused many times over.
