The Pi is an ideal candidate for streaming high-definition audio straight to your HiFi system or headphones, with one critical flaw, the Pi doesn't have a proper DAC! This HAT well and truly fixes that, with a low-noise DAC IC from TI, and the outputs you need to connect to your analog system.

This is Raspberry Pi's mid-range DAC board, boasting solid components, outputs, and layout, sitting below their top-teir DAC Pro HAT

If you're looking to wrap all this up in a snazzy case, the HighPi Pro case fits around a Pi and this HAT like a glove (other cases have trouble with this HAT)

Features

  • Utilises the Texas Instruments PCM5122 DAC to deliver great low-noise stereo audio through two possible outputs:
    • RCA Line-level outputs
    • Dedicated amplified 3.5mm headphone port
  • Pre-programmed EEPROM for plug-and-play recognition by a Raspberry Pi
  • Good software support with and Volumio, Max2Play, and Roon

  • Based on TI’s PCM5122 DAC IC
  • Uses the following pins on your Pi's 40-Pin header:
    • All power pins
    • All ground pins

    • GPIO 18/19/20/21 for I2S
  • Outputs to the pins as follows:
  • Table showing output pins
