  • grinder_timer
  • Making a dumb coffee grinder slightly less dumb. This is a programmable timer tethered to a Rancilio Rocky coffee grinder. The Rocky is a "dumb" grinder and electrically very simple. Basically it's an ac motor with an on/off switch and a momentary push-button to grind. This project adds an electronic timer so that repeatable grind quantities can be produced without having to stand over the grinder. Features: - Four programmable ...

Well, what can I say. It's a microcontroller and it works OK.

Controlling away quite nicely as a "minimal" Arduino (Posted on 17/07/2017)

A great microcontroller. (Posted on 10/04/2017)

  4. Review by Case verified purchaser

All products have met my expectations. Thanks (Posted on 15/08/2016)

  5. Review by Mike - Does the job verified purchaser

I bought this microcontroller without the boot-loader because it was cheaper and it is easy to put one in if you already have a project board and a few jumper wires already. Since then I have reset the internal fuses to run on the internal oscillator at 8 MHz and installed the boot-loader using Nick Gammons excellent posts. So far so good - this project has a way to run. I liked the cheap postage, thanks guys. (Posted on 17/06/2015)

  6. Review by Hans - Core Electronics, my favorite shop in Oz. Good quick service. verified purchaser

I have been dealing with Core electronics for a while now and there is honestly not a single cause for complaints. Their service is quick and prices and shipping are low.
Best of all, Graham is approachable when help or advice is needed.
Shipping 2-3 days, beats the long wait from China. H (Posted on 10/11/2014)

  7. Review by Michael - AVR works well as Arduino replacement verified purchaser

This AVR works well as an Arduino replacement for incorporating permanently into circuits. There is more flash space without the bootloader, it draws less power without the supporting chips, and it is cheaper.
The downsides are that you'll need an ICSP (or similar) to program it, there's no easy USB interface, and there's two analogue pins missing compared to an Arduino Nano. (Posted on 7/03/2014)
