Easily hackable to 100Mhz and unlock all features using RIGLOL. Use the website http://www.gotroot.ca/rigol/riglol/ and enter your details, get the unlock code and presto you have upgraded at no cost. The staff didn't know if it was hackable when I did a web chat but after doing it myself I can confirm it still works. (Posted on 19/02/2019)

A top bit of kit.It sets next to HP test equipment on the desk and feels right at home although a lot more affordable. (Posted on 28/11/2018)

Fantastic beginners scope. It's come invaluable to me within days of purchase. From measuring output from stepper motors to looking at low frequencies on oscillators. This scope breezes through all simple jobs without fuss. (Posted on 6/10/2018)

Great scope, very popular with makers so there is a world of content online on how to best utilise your new toy. Make sure you check out the video called "How NOT To Blow Up Your Oscilloscope!" on youtube for some handy tips if this is your first time using a scope. If you are setting up your workshop you can't go wrong with this as your first scope. (Posted on 14/09/2018)

I got this scope after reading a lot of reviews. I was after a good value general purpose scope for my own embedded projects. That's exactly what I got. 4 channels (and 4 probes) too!

I've used a number of $5000+ scopes over the years, and while this scope isn't quite as capable, it has a lot of the features that have traditionally been in very expensive scopes. Bloody impressive for 1/10th the price. It's worlds above the old 2-channel hobbyist scopes that were available in the ~$400-600 price range.

Not suited for specialist applications (obviously), but it'll last most engineers and hobbyists a VERY long time. Awesome value. (Posted on 1/09/2018)

Rigol's DS1054Z is everything Dave Jones of EEVBLOG says it is. "The best entry level scope." and I second that. (Posted on 7/08/2018)

Great oscilloscope for price vs performance. Comes with decoding modes for probing UART, I2C and SPI. It also helps that the screen is big and looks great. (Posted on 24/07/2018)

What a great product for the price ! I purchased this unit to upgrade my 33 year old dual trace CRO. I was overwhelmed by the list of features this DSO has and thought I would not used many of them but I was wrong. The more I use this unit the more I fall in love with it.
It's an ideal scope for the more advanced user and yet would still be a great scope for the beginner as the unit has an "Auto" function/button which automatically selects the most appropriate setting for the viewed waveform.
Overall I'm VERY happy with this unit and give it full marks...especially for the price ! (Posted on 8/06/2018)

Personally I've found this scope to be solid, easy to use and flexible. While it can't go toe to toe with the commercial high end scopes, it is a perfect scope for hobbyists. When compared with scopes of a similar price point, its capabilities far exceed the competitors.

It is a very popular general purpose oscilloscope as there is a plethora of examples on the net of people using this device and hence, there is heaps of community support if you get stuck. If you're feeling brave, there are also firmware upgrades available to unlock additional features.

Be sure to check out Dave's detailed discussion on EEVBlog of the DS-1054Z as it is one of the most informative discussions on oscilloscopes I've encountered. (Posted on 2/05/2017)

Very happy with this product and same for Core Electronics. Been awhile since I bought test equipment, much of what I have is old or ancient (70's, 80's and 90's) when I worked on DEC, HP, Control Data and other computers, Instruments and Control Systems (Honeywell TDC etc). Really appreciate the Blog, Projects and Tutorials sections. And service and delivery could not be faulted. I do not need to shop anywhere else! 10/10 Graham - a great company and I look forward to calling in when next travelling from Toowoomba to Sydney! (Posted on 20/09/2016)
