The Raspberry Pi lacks AD/DA functionality on its GPIO interface, which can be a challenge during development. The High-Precision AD/DA Board solves this issue, adding high-precision AD/DA functions to the Raspberry Pi.

Features

  • Standard Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO extension header, compatible with Raspberry Pi series boards and Jetson Nano.
  • Onboard ADS1256, 8-channel 24-bit high-precision ADC (4 differential inputs) with a 30ksps sampling rate.
  • Onboard DAC8552, 2-channel 16-bit high-precision DAC.
  • Pinheaders for analog signal input, compatible with Waveshare sensor interface standard for easy sensor module integration.
  • Screw terminals for analog/digital signal input/output.
  • Features AD/DA detection circuits for signal demonstration.

What's on Board

High-Precision AD/DA Board layout

  1. Raspberry Pi GPIO interface: For connecting with the Raspberry Pi.
  2. AD/DA input/output: Screw terminals.
  3. AD input: Pinheaders compatible with Waveshare sensor interface standard for connecting analog sensor modules.
  4. 7.68M crystal: Provides a stable clock source.
  5. LM285-2.5: Reference voltage provider for the ADC chip.
  6. Photoresistor: Integrated for demonstrations.
  7. LED output indicator: For signal activity visualization.
  8. 10K potentiometer: Allows for variable resistance adjustments.
  9. DAC8552: 16-bit high-precision DAC with 2 channels.
  10. Power indicator: Displays power status.
  11. ADS1256: 24-bit high-precision ADC with 8 channels (4 differential inputs).
  12. ADC testing jumper: For diagnostic purposes.
  13. DAC testing jumper: For diagnostic purposes.
  14. Power selection jumper: Configures power input source.
  15. ADC reference ground configuration: When AD is single-ended, AINCOM acts as a reference terminal and can connect to GND or an external reference voltage.
