Discover the Nano Base Board (A) for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 – a compact, fully featured breakout board designed for rapid evaluation or seamless integration into space-constrained applications.

Its 55 × 40 mm footprint hosts multiple high-speed interfaces, power-management controls and expansion headers, making it ideal for prototyping, embedded OEM designs or advanced maker projects.

  • CM5 socket: Supports all Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 variants (Compute Module 5)
  • Power input: 5 V via micro-USB (also used for eMMC programming)
  • USB: USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port
  • GPIO: Standard Raspberry Pi 40-pin header
  • MIPI: Two 4-lane interfaces (22-pin 0.5 mm FPC) for CSI/DSI modules
  • Storage: TF card slot for CM5 Lite variants
  • Fan header: 4-pin JST-SH PWM
  • Controls: PSW (power) button; BOOT button for eMMC burn mode
  • RTC: 2-pin JST-SH battery header
  • Indicators: Dual-colour LED (power = red; activity = green)
  • IO-VREF: Selectable 3.3 V or 1.8 V logic level
  • Special pins: Core power enable; ETH SYNC
  • Dimensions: 55 × 40 mm

How to Use/Installation

  1. Insert your Compute Module 5 into the board’s CM5 socket, ensuring correct pin alignment.
  2. Optional: Fit a TF card with a pre-burnt OS image into the slot (for Lite variants).
  3. Connect peripherals via USB A port, GPIO header or MIPI FPC connectors.
  4. Attach a 5 V micro-USB power supply. Hold BOOT button before power-on to programme eMMC, if required.
  5. Connect a PWM fan to the JST-SH header for active cooling in demanding applications.
  6. Use PSW button to cycle power; monitor system status via dual-colour LED.

  • Raspberry Pi HATs and GPIO accessories via 40-pin header
  • MIPI-CSI cameras and DSI displays (22-pin FPC)

  • RTC backup batteries (2-pin JST-SH)

  • $11+ for Express Post (typically 2+ business days, tracked)
  • Pickup - Free! Only available to customers who live in the Newcastle region (must order online and only pickup after we email to notify you the order is ready). Orders placed after 2PM may not be ready until the following business day.

Non-metro addresses in WA, NT, SA & TAS can take 2+ days in addition to the above information.

Some batteries (such as LiPo) can't be shipped by Air. During checkout, Express Post and International Methods will not be an option if you have that type of battery in your shopping cart.

International Orders - the following rates are for New Zealand and will vary for other countries:

  • $12+ for Pack and Track (3+ days, tracked)
  • $16+ for Express International (2-5 days, tracked)

If you order lots of gear, the postage amount will increase based on the weight of your order.
