Documentation and Resources:
  • Rain Gauge Data Logger
  • Summary A Raspberry Pi 3B is used to collect digital counts from an electronic rain gauge (1mm of rain per reed switch closure by magnetic see-saw). It has been running without issues for over 12 months. A UPS powers the Pi so it is immune from short power glitches. The total count is displayed on an LCD screen with reset and inc/dec test buttons. “To HTML” and “To LCD” routines are also included to simp...
  • ThingSpeak temperature & pressure logger
  • This project logs temperature and pressure observations to a ThingSpeak channel using an ESP8266 WiFi module.
  • Arduino Cooking Alarm with DS18b20 Sensor
  • Today we will be making an Arduino circuit that will start playing a noise if the water (or surrounding environment) reaches a certain temperature, in our case, that temperature will be 100° Celsius. This is a useful little project that takes barely any time at all but will be extremely useful to know when your pasta is ready, or when your kettle is ready to pour some coffee. In this project, we will be showing you how...
  • Basic Weather Station
  • The aim of this project was to provide a cost effective and basic weather station for my backyard that can upload readings to Weather Underground. Part 2 of the project will be using this local data to trigger activities in and around my house.

  1. Review by Abram verified purchaser

This is pretty good. I tried using jumper cables though and they don't work. The leads on the bottom are mainly for breadboard and pcb use. They're also quite fragile. Not the module, just the leads. It's a great, accurate solution for measuring temperature and humidity and is very reliable though! (Posted on 19/10/2018)

  2. Review by Ross verified purchaser

Great for my weather sensing project. (Posted on 19/07/2018)

  3. Review by William verified purchaser

  4. Review by LLoyd verified purchaser

preparing the appropriate sketch to use this is at the moment a little challenging
should have just bought the analogue one (Posted on 21/05/2018)

  5. Review by Kim verified purchaser

Good little sensor but has an issue at high humidity, gets stuck around 100% and stays there. (Posted on 21/05/2018)

  6. Review by Rhys verified purchaser

Easy to use, but you need a resistor. Seems to be very accurate. (Posted on 4/05/2018)

  7. Review by travis verified purchaser

As described and good quality (Posted on 18/04/2018)

  8. Review by Nathan verified purchaser

    Fantastic product (Posted on 3/08/2016)

  9. Review by Rob - It just worked

Connected this onto my Raspberrypi. Worked fine no problems at all. I was surprised at how close the temperature measurement was to my 1wire DS18B20 devices also connected to the RPi. (within 0.2 degrees between devices) (Posted on 22/05/2013)
