Ever since Altoids discontinued the Gum version, its been hard to get tins. So Adafruit went and got a whole mess of them custom made! These tins are exactly the same shape and size as the old Altoids gum tins but they are blank and Adafruit got the bottom flattened instead of rounded (so it fits things better)

Outside dimensions are: 1.43" x 3.35" x 0.8"
Inside dimensions are: 1.40" x 3.30"

Perfect for mintyboosts! Contains no gum (which is probably for the best as it was kind of gross tasting)

Brilliant for tiny projects like the Minty Boost, or just for storing stuff like Dremel bits. (Posted on 12/05/2016)

Ever since the discontinuation of the Altoids gum it has been hard to find a replacement part. Now the gum tin supplied by Core-Electronics is a superior product. Identical in internal dimensions, so just about any prototype product fits. With the flat base life becomes a little easier to secure the internal components. Very sturdy construction I might add. After extensive abuse, drilling and cutting holes all over the tin, I am yet to find the "weak spot" that causes deformations of the tin itself.

This product is a perfect replacement for any pocket sized project, be it a MintyBoost, TV-B-gone or even the classic cMoy design amplifier. And the price? You can't go wrong. For less than $5 delivered, not even ebay is worth approaching. (Posted on 20/01/2014)
