Why use a heatsink and a case, when you can use a heatsink case?! This sleek, anodised aluminium case for Raspberry Pi 4 will give you 10-15°C of passive cooling under full CPU load. Pretty cool.

If you're looking to protect and cool your Raspberry Pi 4 this is the case for you! It offers superb passive cooling, great for media centres and the like, we do offer a variant with dual 5V fans to keep your Raspberry Pi 4 frosty.

This case comes with a hex key for easy assembly as well as thermal tape to allow a thermal connection between the case and CPU. It also allows access to all GPIO pins and ports which the Raspberry Pi 4 offers.

Features

  • Anodised aluminium top and bottom case (also in Gold)
  • Heatsink fins
  • Thermal pads
  • Hex bolts and hex key
  • Access to all ports, pins, and connectors
  • Compatible with Raspberry Pi 4

Assembly

Assembly of your heatsink should be quick and easy. First and foremost, make sure your Raspberry Pi 4 is powered off and unplugged.

Next, take a thermal thermal pad, peel off the protective covers and attach to the CPU of your Raspberry Pi. If you would like, you can attach thermal pads to the DDR4 RAM chip, however, it isn't a necessity.

Finally, you will need to position the top half of the case with the correct orientation, while simultaneously positioning the bottom half underneath your Pi. Grab your hex screws and trusty hex key, secure your new Pi heatsink case in place. If after assembly there is a visible gap between the CPU and the heatsink, disassemble and use an additional thermal pad.

For a video demonstration of the assembly process, check out this great tutorial!

To use a HAT with this case, you will need to use some header extenders. This 2x20 one would be suitable! Alternatively, you could use a Pi GPIO Ribbon Cable like this one.

Notes

  • The metal case is conductive of both heat and electricity. Take care when building circuits not to short any components.
  • As a conductor of heat, the case will get warm during use, though you'll be hard-pressed to ever see an "over temperature" error.
  • Dimensions: 87x56x25mm
