Introduction

This is a dissolved oxygen sensor kit, which is compatible with Arduino microcontrollers. This product is used to measure the dissolved oxygen in water, which reflects the water quality. It is designed for use in measuring water quality, this is used in fields such as aquaculture, environment monitoring, natural science and so on.
There’s an old saying regarding to keeping fish, “Good fish deserve good water”. Good water quality is very important to aquatic organisms, and dissolved oxygen is one of the important parameters. Low dissolved oxygen in the water will lead to difficulty in breathing for aquatic organisms, which may threaten the lives of aquatic organisms their lives.

This sensor kit helps you quickly to build your own dissolved oxygen detector. The probe is galvanic, with no need for polarization, and available at any time. The filling solution and membrane cap are replaceable, leading to a low maintenance cost. The signal converter board is plug and play, with wide compatibility. With open-source code and detailed tutorials provided, this product is very suitable for your projects in detecting the dissolved oxygen concentration.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Due to the International Import and Export Policy, the corrosive solution (acid & alkaline solution) cannot be shipped internationally by the methods we use. The filling solution is not included in the kit. You have to purchase it locally or manufacture it yourself, refer to WiKi FAQ-Q4. It can’t work without a filling solution! Please be cautious when using this device initially

1. The filling solution is 0.5 mol/L NaOH solution (you can make this using lye, weigh it to 1 mol, then mix with 2 L of distilled water). You need to pour it in the membrane cap before use. Note that this solution is corrosive, so please wear gloves and safety glasses! If the solution accidentally drops onto skin, wash with of water immediately.
2. The oxygen permeable membrane in the membrane cap is sensitive and fragile. Be cautious when handling it. Fingernails or other sharp objects should be avoided.
3. The sensor will consume a little oxygen during the measurement. Gently stir the solution and let the oxygen to be distributed evenly in the water.
