The Multi-function Expansion Board for UNIHIKER is an all-in-one module engineered to unlock the full potential of UNIHIKER (K10 / M10) and micro:bit development boards. By seamlessly integrating with the host controller, it addresses common limitations through three core enhancements: comprehensive I/O expansion, a self-contained 18650 mobile power system, and a high-current motor and servo drive unit. This board enables the simultaneous control of up to 4 DC motors and 6 servos while providing a rich array of digital, analog, and communication ports. It is the definitive solution for developing complex mobile robots, portable interactive devices, and sophisticated maker projects that demand greater connectivity and power autonomy.

 

 

Comprehensive I/O Expansion

This expansion board directly resolves the issue of insufficient I/O pins on the UNIHIKER development board. It adds a multitude of multifunctional pins, including 6 ports for digital, analog, or single-bus devices, and a dedicated interface for ultrasonic sensors. Critically, it retains the native gold finger interface of the mainboard, ensuring existing connections remain accessible. Furthermore, the board integrates onboard components such as two programmable RGB LEDs and an infrared transmitter/receiver, adding immediate functionality for status indication and remote control without requiring external modules.

Integrated Mobile Power Solution

Designed for true project mobility, the IO expansion board eliminates the need for cumbersome external battery packs and tethered power cables. It features an integrated 18650 battery holder with a complete charging and discharging management circuit. An onboard battery level indicator provides a clear visual cue of the power status for safe operation. For the high-performance UNIHIKER M10, a specially designed Type-C to HY2.0-4P power cable is included, ensuring a stable and reliable power supply for demanding applications.

 

Superior Motor and Servo Driving Capability

To handle complex robotics and automation tasks, the IO expansion board is equipped with a powerful drive system. It incorporates a four-channel DC motor driver and six servo interfaces. The servo power supply is independent, drawing directly from the battery to ensure that high-torque movements do not compromise the main controller's stability. Additionally, a dedicated 5V I2C interface is included to reliably power high-current peripherals, such as the HUSKYLENS AI vision sensor, which typical 3.3V logic boards cannot support alone.

Robust, LEGO-Compatible, and User-Friendly Design

Every aspect of the board is designed for practicality and durability. The M3 mounting hole spacing on its base is compatible with LEGO brick dimensions, allowing for seamless integration into mechanical structures. A full suite of status indicator lights for system power, charging, and motor direction provides immediate visual feedback for easy debugging. For protection, an acrylic baseplate prevents accidental short circuits, while all I/O pins are equipped with electrostatic protection, enhancing safety during handling and use.

  • $3+ for Stamped Mail (typically 10+ business days, not tracked, only available on selected small items)
  • $7+ for Standard Post (typically 6+ business days, tracked)
  • $11+ for Express Post (typically 2+ business days, tracked)
  • Pickup - Free! Only available to customers who live in the Newcastle region (must order online and only pickup after we email to notify you the order is ready). Orders placed after 2PM may not be ready until the following business day.

Non-metro addresses in WA, NT, SA & TAS can take 2+ days in addition to the above information.

Some batteries (such as LiPo) can't be shipped by Air. During checkout, Express Post and International Methods will not be an option if you have that type of battery in your shopping cart.

International Orders - the following rates are for New Zealand and will vary for other countries:

  • $12+ for Pack and Track (3+ days, tracked)
  • $16+ for Express International (2-5 days, tracked)

If you order lots of gear, the postage amount will increase based on the weight of your order.
