We know these look like a lot of our other LEDs, but they’re not! These are PTH Addressable RGB LEDs with a WS2812 control IC built right into the them. This RGB LED has the control IC moved into the actual LED, so we wanted to offer this amazing product to you! They’re great when you need a lot of color from not a lot of board space, now more so than ever.

The rings are 'chainable' - connect the output pin of one to the input pin of another. Use only one microcontroller pin to control as many as you can chain together! Each LED is addressable as the driver chip is inside the LED. Each one has ~18mA constant current drive so the color will be very consistent even if the voltage varies, and no external choke resistors are required making the design slim. Power the whole thing with 5VDC and you're ready to rock.

These look a lot like our NeoPixel fairy lights here, but have a funky twist. In fact, we're a little hesitant to call them NeoPixels because while they can be controlled by "NeoPixel" code, they don't function like NeoPixels. Technically, an NeoPixel is an LED that also acts as a shift register. 24 or 32 bits of brightness data comes in the input pin, and the LED removes it and passes along the rest. This is what lets folks chain as many pixels as they like onto the end: each pixel just grabs the first color data, and passes the rest down like a bucket brigade
