The Bambu Lab A1 AMS Combo transforms the ultimate desktop workhorse into a fully automated, multi-material production factory.

The standard A1 is already a powerhouse, but adding the AMS lite moves it into a different league of productivity. For any maker, the "Combo" isn't just about printing in four colours; it’s about the functional freedom to use dedicated support materials. By using specialised interface filaments (like PVA or other filaments that don't adhere) in one of the four slots, you can produce complex mechanical parts with internal geometries that would be impossible to clean up on a single-material machine. This setup takes the A1’s "plug-and-play" ethos and applies it to the entire material lifecycle, from loading to finished part.

The real "quality of life" upgrade provided by the AMS lite is the elimination of the "end-of-roll" anxiety. With the Filament Backup feature, the printer can automatically transition from an empty spool to a fresh one of the same material, allowing you to use up every last gram of filament without risking a failed print. It essentially acts as a smart management system that communicates directly with the printer via RFID to sync settings instantly. This means you spend less time manually calibrating temperatures and more time letting the machine churn through your project queue autonomously.

Why your workshop needs an A1 AMS Combo:

Quick and Reliable

A1 is optimised for high-speed performance with low-drag linear rails, a powerful MCU, accelerometers, a nozzle pressure sensor, and an advanced motion control system. Designed around a solid foundation, the A1 ensures consistent reliability print after print.

Full-Auto Calibration

Automatically handles Z-offset, bed-leveling, and vibration resonance for every job, meaning you spend less time "faffing" and more time creating.

1-Click Mobile Printing

Integration with the Bambu Handy app and MakerWorld allows you to find a model and start a print directly from your phone, bypassing the need to learn complex slicer software on day one.

Four-Slot Multi-Material Loading

The AMS lite allows you to keep four different spools ready to go, enabling complex multi-colour designs or the use of dedicated support materials for "perfect" surface finishes on overhangs.

Automatic Filament Backup

If one spool runs dry mid-print, the system can automatically switch to a second spool of the same material, ensuring your long-running projects finish successfully while you’re away from your workbench.

Active Tangle Detection

The AMS lite monitors the tension of the spool in real-time; if it detects a knot or a snag in the filament, it pauses the print immediately to prevent damage to the toolhead or a snapped strand.
