With the new Pi Zero W comes a snazzy new Pi Zero case! It's the official case from the Raspberry Pi Foundation and matches the aesthetics of the official Pi 3 case, but with the form factor to match both the Pi Zero and the Pi Zero W.

Not only does it have the same detachable top plate as the Pi 3 case, it also comes with a selection of different plates for different purposes. If you want to create a super compact spy cam, then the Camera mount plate is perfect. Or perhaps you're prototyping up your next build and want to use all of the GPIO pins, well the prototyping plate is there for you. Each plate is included with the case.

What's in the Box

  • Pi Zero Case with Prototyping, Camera, and General faceplates
  • Camera Adapter cable
  • 4x rubber feet.

A good case is a requirement if using the zero, and what better than the one from the company themselves. (Posted on 7/08/2017)

Great little case that comes with multiple lids to suit different purposes.

Given it's the official case, it's a bit disappointing that there's a known issue with the HDMI port. (Posted on 1/08/2017)

Very professionally made case with 3 'lids' and slots for HDMI, Micro USB, power and input and GPIO board, however it does not have a slot to add/remove the Micro SD card, so to trail different operating systems, the board has to be removed from the case, which is a pain!
4/5 and would have been 5/5 with the above slot (Posted on 28/07/2017)

This case fits the RaspberryPi 0 W perfectly. The additional covers allowing GPIO access or an CSI camera are really well made and are well finished; no rough filed edges here!. Also the case looks very slick, although red and white aren't usually my style. (Posted on 26/07/2017)

Downside: Every time you insert/remove the MicroSD card (which is quite often) - it's a very fiddly process of having to remove the whole board completely out of the case. I recommend getting another case (the aliexpress ones made out of two straight plastic pieces are great - they sell for 2 dollars) since they allow access to everything you need while still protecting your Pi Zero W. A must have for the Pi Zero. With a choice of three face plates (enclosed, camera, and GPIO), you are set for nearly any project. There is even a slot in the base to breakout the camera cable if you want to mount the camera separately. (Posted on 18/06/2017)

A very adaptable case with the three options for the lid included. I'm not a huge fan of the asthetics but on a device this small it's easy to hide it out of sight. The uSD card is not accessible without taking the RPi zero out which can be annoying if you like to swap distros but my main concern is how the Pi is held in place. It was not intuitive and while it is quite secure I would have preferred screws. (Posted on 27/05/2017)

Neat case, the pi zero W clicks in without screws. Three lids, the one with the camera port is my favourite. You do need to put the micro SD card in before putting the zero into the case because there is no slot to access the SD card once the zero is mounted. (Posted on 26/05/2017)

Just like the ones with the same colour scheme for the full-size Pi. Which is to say, very cute, but prone to shattering into its constituent components if you drop it.

Really good original case with holes for power, USB, HDMI and the longer camera ribbon, should you desire it. Comes with different tops: Fully-closed, GPIO only and camera hole. Too bad it's missing a hole for SD card - if you need to swap or take it out, you're gonna have to take out the Pi altogether from the case (Posted on 25/05/2017)
