A near-A4 canvas of colour E Ink for your Raspberry Pi: 1600 x 1200 pixels across a 13.3" panel that only changes when you tell it to, and draws no power in between.
Always-on displays usually mean a glowing LCD, or OLED and a constant power draw. This one uses E Ink Spectra 6 technology, reflecting ambient light like printed paper, so it stays readable in a sunlit room, adds no light at night, and holds its image with the power off. That makes it a natural fit for wall-mounted dashboards, calendars, weather stations and digital art frames.
The board measures 297 x 210 mm, the same as an A4 sheet, so it can drop straight into an off-the-shelf A4 picture frame. It arrives fully assembled with the panel bonded to the PCB, and it plugs onto any Raspberry Pi with a 40-pin header, with no soldering required.
Getting started
Holding the board by its edges (the panel is glass), fit the standoffs and seat your Raspberry Pi on the 40-pin header. Add the included extension header for full-size Pi boards.
Run Pimoroni's installer to set up the Inky Python library.
Push images or text to the display from Python; the library handles dithering to the six-colour palette for you.

- $3+ for Stamped Mail (typically 10+ business days, not tracked, only available on selected small items)
- $7+ for Standard Post (typically 6+ business days, tracked)
- $11+ for Express Post (typically 2+ business days, tracked)
- Pickup - Free! Only available to customers who live in the Newcastle region (must order online and only pickup after we email to notify you the order is ready). Orders placed after 2PM may not be ready until the following business day.
Non-metro addresses in WA, NT, SA & TAS can take 2+ days in addition to the above information.
Some batteries (such as LiPo) can't be shipped by Air. During checkout, Express Post and International Methods will not be an option if you have that type of battery in your shopping cart.
International Orders - the following rates are for New Zealand and will vary for other countries:
- $12+ for Pack and Track (3+ days, tracked)
- $16+ for Express International (2-5 days, tracked)
