This variety pack of threaded inserts are perfect for any thermoplastic, with the twin-rolled gripping portion of the insert providing an amazing fit.

We've used them to great success on some 3D printed parts, forming a long-lasting thread compared to screwing and forming a thread just from the screw/bolt itself.

There are specialty tips for heat-set inserts, we stock the one that works for M3 - but have also found standard conical tips work great (though you might want a separate one for electronics work if you are using lots of heat sets)

How to use:

Heat up your soldering iron - if you don't have one, we recommend the Hakko FX888DX Soldering Station or Hakko RED 60W.
Drill or design a hole into your part - tolerances change depending on the machine
Place the insert ontop of the hole, press the hot iron onto the insert
Push until the desired depth is reached
Power off or remove the hot iron to let the insert cool down, setting within the plastic
Use your new strong metal thread!

We deliver Australia-wide with these options (depends on the final destination - you can get a quote on the view cart page):

$3+ for Stamped Mail (typically 10+ business days, not tracked, only available on selected small items)

$11+ for Express Post (typically 2+ business days, tracked)
Pickup - Free! Only available to customers who live in the Newcastle region (must order online and only pickup after we email to notify you the order is ready). Orders placed after 2PM may not be ready until the following business day.

Non-metro addresses in WA, NT, SA & TAS can take 2+ days in addition to the above information.

Some batteries (such as LiPo) can't be shipped by Air. During checkout, Express Post and International Methods will not be an option if you have that type of battery in your shopping cart.

International Orders - the following rates are for New Zealand and will vary for other countries:

$12+ for Pack and Track (3+ days, tracked)
$16+ for Express International (2-5 days, tracked)
