## Description

This variety pack of threaded inserts are perfect for any thermoplastic, with the twin-rolled gripping portion of the insert provides amazing strength for a wide range of thermoplastics.

We've used them to great success on some 3D printed parts, forming a long-lasting thread compared to screwing and forming a thread just from the screw/bolt itself.

There are specialty tips for heat-set inserts, we stock the one [that works for M3](https://core-electronics.com.au/heat-set-insert-for-soldering-irons-4-40-m3-inserts.html) - but have also found standard conical tips work great (though you might want a separate one for electronics work if you are using lots of heat sets).

We would love to see your creations with these! Let us know your favourite sizes to source bulk packs of them.

### How to use:

1. Heat up your soldering iron - if you don't have one, we recommend [the Hakko FX888DX Soldering Station](https://core-electronics.com.au/hakko-fx888dx-soldering-station-90w-silver-body.html) or [Hakko RED 60W](https://core-electronics.com.au/hakko-red-soldering-iron-60w.html).
2. Drill or design a hole into your part - tolerances change depending on the machine
3. Place the insert ontop of the hole, press the hot iron onto the insert
4. Push until the desired depth is reached
5. Power off or remove the hot iron to let the insert cool down, setting within the plastic
6. Use your new strong metal thread!
