Introduction

ESP32-S2-Saola-1 is a small-sized ESP32-S2-based development board. Most of the I/O pins are broken out to the pin headers on both sides for easy interfacing. Developers can either connect peripherals with jumper wires or mount ESP32-S2-Saola-1 on a breadboard.

ESP32-S2-Saola-1 is equipped with ESP32-S2-WROOM module, a powerful and generic Wi-Fi MCU module that has a rich set of peripherals. It’s an ideal choice for a wide variety of application scenarios like wearable electronics and smart home. The board has PCB onboard antenna, and 4MB SPI flash.

Description of Components

Key Component	Description
ESP32-S2-WROVER	ESP32-S2-WROVER is a powerful, generic Wi-Fi MCU module that integrates ESP32-S2. It has a PCB antenna, a 4 MB external SPI flash and an additional 2 MB PSRAM.
I/O Connector	All available GPIO pins (except for the SPI bus for flash and PSRAM) are broken out to the pin headers on the board. Users can program ESP32-S2 chip to enable multiple functions such as SPI, I2S, UART, I2C, touch sensors, PWM etc.
USB to UART Bridge	Single USB-UART bridge chip provides transfer rates up to 3 Mbps.
Boot Button	Download button. Holding down Boot and then pressing Reset initiates Firmware Download mode for downloading firmware through the serial port.
Reset Button	Reset button.
3.3 V Power On LED	Turns on when the USB power is connected to the board.
Micro-USB Port	USB interface. Power supply for the board as well as the communication interface between a computer and the ESP32-S2 chip.
RGB LED	Addressable RGB LED (WS2812), driven by GPIO18.

Pickup - Free! Only available to customers who live in the Newcastle region (must order online and only pickup after we email to notify you the order is ready). Orders placed after 2PM may not be ready until the following business day.

Non-metro addresses in WA, NT, SA & TAS can take 2+ days in addition to the above information.

Some batteries (such as LiPo) can't be shipped by Air. During checkout, Express Post and International Methods will not be an option if you have that type of battery in your shopping cart.

International Orders - the following rates are for New Zealand and will vary for other countries:

$12+ for Pack and Track (3+ days, tracked)
$16+ for Express International (2-5 days, tracked)
