The LattePanda 18650 UPS Expansion Board is a high-performance uninterruptible power supply module engineered specifically for the LattePanda IOTA. It delivers a seamless, laptop-like power management experience through a true plug-and-play design. By leveraging the standard HID-UPS protocol, this LattePanda UPS module is natively recognized as a battery device in Windows 10 and 11, eliminating the need for drivers or custom programming. Its core function is to provide stable, continuous power, ensuring project stability and data integrity during unexpected power interruptions. Key features include intelligent hardware-level power management, an ultra-low power standby mode (~30µA), and a high-efficiency power path capable of supporting up to 8 hours of runtime with three 18650 cells. This makes it an essential component for mobile robotics, portable embedded systems, and any application requiring robust power-fail protection.

Plug-and-Play Simplicity

Integration is effortless thanks to the onboard HID-UPS protocol. When connected, the LattePanda IOTA's Windows operating system automatically identifies this 18650 UPS as a standard battery pack. This allows for immediate monitoring of battery status directly from the taskbar and ensures full compatibility with native system power policies, such as automated low-battery shutdown or sleep mode, without any software installation or configuration.


Intelligent Hardware-Level Power Management

This power management module provides users with direct, reliable control over critical power functions via an onboard 3-position DIP switch. This hardware-based approach allows for the configuration of essential behaviors like auto power-on when external power is applied, graceful system shutdown upon power loss, and setting the battery charging limit. This removes software dependencies and provides a robust, set-and-forget power management solution.


High-Efficiency for Extended Runtime

Designed for maximum energy efficiency, the power circuit minimizes conversion losses to prolong operational time. When equipped with three high-capacity 3500mAh 18650 lithium-ion cells, this uninterruptible power supply can sustain a LattePanda IOTA for up to 8 hours. This extended runtime is critical for applications that are mobile, deployed off-grid, or require long-term operation without access to a stable power source.


Ultra-Low Power Standby Mode

After the LattePanda IOTA performs a shutdown, the UPS expansion board automatically transitions into an ultra-low-power standby state, drawing a mere ~30µA of static current. This feature significantly reduces battery drain during long periods of inactivity, preserving the charge and protecting the overall health and lifespan of the 18650 cells, ensuring the system is ready for its next deployment.

    We deliver Australia-wide with these options (depends on the final destination - you can get a quote on the view cart page):

    • $3+ for Stamped Mail (typically 10+ business days, not tracked, only available on selected small items)
    • $7+ for Standard Post (typically 6+ business days, tracked)
    • $11+ for Express Post (typically 2+ business days, tracked)
    • Pickup - Free! Only available to customers who live in the Newcastle region (must order online and only pickup after we email to notify you the order is ready). Orders placed after 2PM may not be ready until the following business day.

    Non-metro addresses in WA, NT, SA & TAS can take 2+ days in addition to the above information.

    Some batteries (such as LiPo) can't be shipped by Air. During checkout, Express Post and International Methods will not be an option if you have that type of battery in your shopping cart.

    International Orders - the following rates are for New Zealand and will vary for other countries:

    • $12+ for Pack and Track (3+ days, tracked)
    • $16+ for Express International (2-5 days, tracked)

    If you order lots of gear, the postage amount will increase based on the weight of your order.
