The RTL-SDR Blog V4 is an upgraded version of the popular software-defined radio (SDR) dongle, offering improved performance and additional features over the V3 model. Key features of the V4 include the use of the R828D tuner chip, which provides enhanced frequency stability and lower power consumption compared to the R820T2 used in the V3. It also features a built-in low-noise amplifier (LNA), improved thermal design for better heat dissipation, and optimized filtering to reduce interference. Unlike the V3, the V4 no longer supports direct sampling mode for HF signals, relying instead on upconversion or external solutions for HF reception. The V4 model maintains compatibility with popular SDR software and is ideal for applications such as radio scanning, ADS-B reception, and general signal monitoring.

- Wide Frequency Coverage: Capable of tuning from 500 kHz to 1.766 GHz, the V4 supports a broad range of frequencies, accommodating various applications from HF to UHF bands.
- Enhanced HF Reception: Integrates a built-in upconverter for improved HF signal reception, eliminating the need for direct sampling and providing better sensitivity and adjustable gain on HF frequencies.
- Advanced Tuner Technology: Utilizes the R828D tuner chip, featuring three switchable inputs and a triplexer circuit that isolates HF, VHF, and UHF bands, resulting in reduced interference from strong broadcast stations.
- High-Precision Oscillator: Equipped with a 1 PPM temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO), ensuring exceptional frequency stability across the entire tuning range.
- Robust Construction: Housed in a conductive black aluminum enclosure that provides effective shielding and passive cooling, enhancing durability and performance.
- Software-Selectable Bias Tee: Features a software-activated 4.5V bias tee capable of supplying up to 180 mA, ideal for powering active antennas or external low-noise amplifiers.
- Improved Filtering: Incorporates additional notch filters to mitigate common interference, ensuring clearer signal reception.

- Pickup - Free! Only available to customers who live in the Newcastle region (must order online and only pickup after we email to notify you the order is ready). Orders placed after 2PM may not be ready until the following business day.
Non-metro addresses in WA, NT, SA & TAS can take 2+ days in addition to the above information.
Some batteries (such as LiPo) can't be shipped by Air. During checkout, Express Post and International Methods will not be an option if you have that type of battery in your shopping cart.
International Orders - the following rates are for New Zealand and will vary for other countries:
- $12+ for Pack and Track (3+ days, tracked)
- $16+ for Express International (2-5 days, tracked)
