Pycom Pysense Overview

Updated 12 April 2018

The table below makes comparison of Pycom expansion boards easy. Pysense gets its name from having a good array of sensors. They are:

  • 3-axis accelerometer with 12-bit precision
  • ambient light
  • temperature and humidity
  • barometric pressure

Unlike the Expansion Board 2.0 which duplicates all the pins from the microcontroller, Pysense only gives a 10-pin area where certain features can be broken out if appropriate pin headers are soldered in. The pinout diagram has more information on these pins. It's not so much intended for breadboard prototyping as for permanently attaching to a microcontroller for additional features.
