The Asset Tracker Kit comes with a Particle SIM card with service in more than 100 countries worldwide, and includes 3 months of Particle's 1MB monthly data plan for IoT devices. All Electrons also include Particle's development tools, access to a cloud platform with messaging, and a SIM dashboard for managing and updating your new connected hardware.

The Electron is a 3G device, and will only work in North/South America and Australia. However, unlike the 2G global GSM kit, this version uses 3G so it will work for many many years to come!

Particle offers two types of Electron 3G Kits—this one for North and South America (850/1900 MHz), and one for Europe/Asia/Africa (900/1800 MHz). Check the full list of compatible countries for the location in which your product will be deployed.

Particle Asset Tracker v2 includes:

Improved GPS performance: The new asset tracker has a new 4-layer PCB design that improves its RF performance. This means the device will stay connected in remote locations and will acquire satellites more quickly at startup. The device also features a super capacitor that will help your device retain satellite lock for a short time after it’s lost power.

Smaller design: The new Asset tracker fits in a smaller enclosure that is still water and dust-proof for the most rugged tracking applications.

Expandable with sensors: We’ve added two connectors to make the new asset tracker shield expandable with the Grove sensor ecosystem. Tracking freezers through your supply chain? Easily add a temperature sensor to alert you when containers get too warm.

Additional GPS networks: The asset tracker can now leverage 3 different GNSS networks concurrently (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou)

New and improved firmware library: We’ve created a new and improved firmware library to make using the new version of Adafruit's Asset Tracker easier than ever.

Products that weigh more than 0.5 KG may cost more than what's shown (for example, test equipment, machines, >500mL liquids, etc).

We deliver Australia-wide with these options (depends on the final destination - you can get a quote on the view cart page):

$3+ for Stamped Mail (typically 10+ business days, not tracked, only available on selected small items)
$6+ for Standard Post (typically 6+ business days, tracked)
$10+ for Express Post (typically 2+ business days, tracked)
Pickup - Free! Only available to customers who live in the Newcastle region (must order online and only pickup after we email to notify you the order is ready). Orders placed after 2PM may not be ready until the following business day.

Non-metro addresses in WA, NT, SA & TAS can take 2+ days in addition to the above information.

Some batteries (such as LiPo) can't be shipped by Air. During checkout, Express Post and International Methods will not be an option if you have that type of battery in your shopping cart.

International Orders - the following rates are for New Zealand and will vary for other countries:

$11+ for Pack and Track (3+ days, tracked)
$16+ for Express International (2-5 days, tracked)

If you order lots of gear, the postage amount will increase based on the weight of your order.
