Here are some other exciting projects we're working on currently

Makerverse

Makerverse™ is an exciting foray into maker electronics. From in-depth experiment kits like Plant_io™ to classroom-scale project packs like the Makerverse™ Pro Library.

The Makerverse™ Pro Library is a project-based learning experience designed for Classrooms and Makerspaces.  Step-by-step guides help guarantee success in the classroom and build confidence with electronics, coding, and making.

  • Supports 35+ projects that are guaranteed to delight and inspire
  • Flexible and reusable. When restocking is required, convenient restocking codes are available for every drawer of parts.

Register your interest in the Makerverse Pro Libary.

Embrace your inner scientist with Plant_io™, an open-source project designed to delve into the captivating world of plant cultivation and experimentation. This DIY electronics kit serves as your comprehensive guide to establishing an automated plant irrigation system dependent on soil moisture levels. The kit includes everything you need to get started - and along the way you'll assemble electronics & irrigation hardware, and upload the Plant_io code to the controller.

PiicoDev

PiicoDev Overview

PiicoDev is a ecosystem designed for rapid prototyping and maker education. The range includes:

Here are some of the features we have baked into PiicoDev:

  • Unified MicroPython libraries. The same MicroPython code examples will work on all supported platforms.
  • Simple-and-expandable connections. Modules can be connected using a 4-pin connector and daisy-chained to expand projects.
  • Breakout pins. Every module has a breakout section for optional advanced uses.
  • Consistent size. We have taken care to ensure modules are consistent sizes so that they easy for 3D printing cases, stacking and experimenting with.
  • Creative freedom. Simmer all of these features together and you end up with lots of creative freedom while still being a hands-on electronics experience.

PiicoDev modules are designed by our team in Newcastle and manufactured in Australia and overseas. They’re made for makers and educators alike — affordable, reliable, and easy to use. Get in touch if you have any questions.

Our Capabilities

A product with the Core Electronics Original badge is just that, an original design by our team. If the product is also manufactured in Newcastle, then we list that on the product page. We make our creative works open source where possible.

As makers ourselves, we draw inspiration from a variety of creative origins such as projects, workbench tools and educational resources. We often engage the broader open source community, building upon those designs and contributing back.

Our Factory in Newcastle has a range of equipment including (in no particular order):

  • 700 square meter building with offices/workshops
  • Well equipped electronics prototyping workspaces
  • Robotic Soldering Machines
  • PCB Magazine Unloader
  • PCB Destacker
  • Automatic Stencil Printer
  • Conveyor PCB input/output systems
  • SMT Pick and Place Machine
  • 60+ Electronic Component Feeders
  • Reflow Oven with Rail System
  • PCB Magazine Loader
  • Trotec Speedy400 Laser Cutter
  • Vacuum Forming Machine
  • 3D Printing Farm (Filament + Resin)
