Our through-hole Simon Says Kit is a great beginner’s kit and also a pretty fun toy. All components are through-hole, making this kit a great place to start when you’re learning to solder. When building this kit, you’ll have a chance to solder a 28-pin microprocessor, LEDs, battery clips and more.

The µOLED-128-G2 is a compact display module from 4D Systems using the latest state of the art Passive Matrix OLED (PMOLED) technology with an embedded GOLDELOX graphics processor that delivers ‘stand-alone’ functionality to any project.

We’ve seen quite a few Arduino enclosures come and go, but few of them were quite this sturdy (or quite this pretty). The TuxCase from Tux-Lab is a nice snug enclosure for Uno style Arduino boards that is machined out of a chunk of 6061 extruded aluminum bar stock. A .118" thick acrylic cover protects the top side of the board while letting you see the status LEDs and providing access to things like the GPIO, ISP header and reset button. Of course there are openings milled out for the USB and barrel jack connectors so you can easily connect power to the board in the enclosure.

This is the same product as the OpenLog. The difference is this version comes in fancy clamshell packaging meant for our distributors that need it. Regular customers are welcome to order, but we want to limit the amount of extra packaging finding its way into the trash heap.

We love heat shrink! We use it for all sorts of handy projects. Use it to reinforce connections, protect devices, and electrically isolate exposed solder joints. We worked with a manufacturer to create a kit that we would use: lots of colors, lots of sizes, nothing too long. We specially requested some of the sizes with heat sensitive glue which significantly increases stress relief and water proofing. This kit includes 95 pieces of heat shrink, all of varying colors and sizes, and comes in a clear bag. All pieces are 10cm in length.

This is a piezoresistive force sensor. The harder you press, the lower the sensor’s resistance. Pressing hard, the resistance changes from infinite to ~50k. The sensor itself is thin and flexible, but the resistance does not change while being flexed. Resistance changes only when pressure is applied to the round area at the end of the sensor. Used as a presence sensor (someone standing), weight sensor, pressure sensor (impact testing), etc.
