If you’re looking for something special in your filament portfolio then consider our bambooFill filament. About 80% colorfabb PLA and 20% recycled bamboo fibres. The filament and printed object have good mechanical properties. The filament is reasonably ductile and will not snap during regular handling. It feeds well in Bowden and direct-drive extruders.
The color is stable over a range of temperatures. This material will not change color by increasing or decreasing temperature.
The added filler gives the material a lot of melt strength, so bridging is excellent. This same property also allows the material to be heat smoothed after printing.
The printed object immediately has full strength after printing just like a regular PLA print. No post-print curing time is required.
The filler content results in nearly zero warpage or shrinkage of the part. This makes dimensional stability and build plate adhesion excellent.
This material is provided on a spool! The standard spool is a minimum of 600 grams of filament.
2.85mm filament to be printed with a 0.4mm or larger nozzle.

Build Platform
Colorfabb PLA/PHA performs well on both heated and unheated build platforms. For those users printing on a cold build platform, we suggest applying masking tape to the build area. The rough surface of the tape will provide enough adhesion for the first layer to stick and print almost without any warping.

Users with a heated build platform have quite a few options. Most commonly glass or aluminum. For printing directly onto glass or aluminum we suggest the application of a glue stick. A very thin layer will be sufficient to keep your print nicely in place. Another method is dissolving PVA wood glue in water, keeping the consistency similar to that of milk. By applying just a few drops and smearing this our before you start heating the bed will create a thin layer that will hold the print down very well.

Another option is the use of materials such as Buildtak, PrintBite, PEI or Kapton sheet. These are the preferred choice, as they can last months.

Some batteries (such as LiPo) can't be shipped by Air. During checkout, Express Post and International Methods will not be an option if you have that type of battery in your shopping cart.

International Orders - the following rates are for New Zealand and will vary for other countries:

$16+ for Express International (2-5 days, tracked)
