We're excited to announce the launch of PiicoDev® - our family of sensors and adapters for your favourite prototyping platforms. PiicoDev is for Makers and Educators to create rapid prototypes and learning experiences.

Transcript

We're really happy to announce that PiicoDev is here. PiicoDev is made for rapid prototyping and maker education. It's a family of sensor modules, adapters for your favourite development platforms, cables to hook it all together, and other prototyping essentials.

Get your project started for Raspberry Pi, Micro:Bit, Arduino Uno, and of course Raspberry Pi Pico.

Now for the Pico, I've actually assembled it onto a Pioneers platform, which has an area for the Raspberry Pi Pico on the expansion board, and three PiicoDev modules, as well as some prototyping space for a breadboard. The Pioneers platform has been made with maker education in mind, where you want to connect your hardware together and make sure it doesn't move around too much, so that you can put the platform on the bench, move it around, put it in a drawer, take it out, and everything's still where you left it.

This project is using sensors for light, temperature, and atmospheric conditions like barometric pressure, all connected to the Raspberry Pi Pico through the PiicoDev connector on the expansion shield. And there's also a simple circuit over in the breadboard area. I'll press this button to glow the LED.

Now if I blow on this atmospheric sensor with the paper straw, we should be able to get the LED to light up too. And if we jump over onto the computer to see the temperature plot, I can touch the temperature sensor and see that temperature rise and then fall. And now the plot is showing light levels. And if I shade the sensor, I can move that graph down and then bring it up again with more light.

If you like your prototyping to be a little more permanent than breadboarding, we have a protoboard as well. And that's sized to occupy two places in the PicoDev.PicoDev is a versatile and easy-to-use sensor platform that allows you to quickly prototype and build projects. With PicoDev, you can easily connect sensors to your microcontroller or development board using a simple 4-pin array. Just solder up your circuit, bring in some standoffs, and you can even stack it with other PiicoDev modules.

For boards that run MicroPython, we've written unified MicroPython libraries so that the same package for each sensor will work across different MicroPython boards. This means you can easily switch between boards without having to rewrite or modify your code.

PicoDev is designed and manufactured right here in The Hunter. We take pride in producing high-quality sensors that are reliable and accurate. And because we're constantly innovating, we're always adding new sensors to our lineup.

We can't wait to see what creative projects you make with PicoDev. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced maker, PiicoDev is a great tool to have in your arsenal. So go ahead, explore the possibilities, and let your imagination run wild.

Thanks for watching and happy making!
