Hey, I'm Aidan from Core Electronics. Welcome to the 3D Printing Workshop. We're going to take you on a hands-on journey into the exciting technology that is 3D printing. I've personally spent the past 12 months immersing myself into everything to do with 3D printing. I'm going to share what I've learned along the way with you.

Let's take a look at the course goals and structure. Now the structure of this workshop is based on chapters and sections. We include some supplementary content beside each of the videos, and that's there to help you with some static notes to help with complicated concepts and ideas.

Now this course is going to start off by looking at the technology that 3D printing is built upon, and the interesting ways that 3D printing is being used around the world. Then we'll branch out and explore the many parts and materials that make up a 3D printer. Following that, we'll take a guided tour of the 3D printer software of choice, and learn the lay of the land, really. We'll then jump into the first 3D print, followed by some investigation of our results.

Now following our first successful print, we'll head in to tweak and optimise some of the settings to really tune our print quality. I'll be explaining it all along the way, so you don't need to worry about that, and I'll show you the effects of all the different settings on the final product.

Now this workshop is for beginners from all walks of life, so you needn't worry about any learning prerequisites. I'm also a full-time maker, so I'll be right here to answer any questions that you've got along the way.

Finally, you won't need a 3D printer for this course, it's going to be just as educational if you don't. Also, if you do have a 3D printer, and some of the settings aren't quite the same, just let us know and we'll do our best to explain the differences.
