We are going to tear open a Chibitronics Intro pack. We will show you guys what's in one and how the sweet simplicity of Chibi-paper-circuit-magic is applied.
Grab your Chibitronics Intro Pack and open it up, you will find:
- 3 White LED circuit stickers
- A small roll of copper tape
- 3 simple project cards
- A 3.3V Coin Cell battery
- A Binding Clip
We are going to have a quick look through the 1st Project card today. That's the parachuting star card. The steps are simple, the goal is clear. We are going to 'wire' up a LED to shine through the cardboard so that our parachuting star lights up!
Grab out your copper tape and be prepared to get crafty. Try to be somewhat gentle with the tape and make sure each line is a continuous strip.
The project card gives you all the instruction you need to knock this over in no time.
Next up is the LED circuit, match the little " - " sign on the circuit sticker to the line of copper tape that leads to the - terminal of the battery.
This will allow electrons to flow through your LED and make the desired light for the star.
Make sure your sticker is connected to your foil by pressing on it lightly!
Test it out by grabbing your battery and placing it with the side facing the mark on the paper.
Fold the corner of the card over and press down firmly on the battery.
Your light should have lit up! Go ahead and close your card up and repeat the press down. If it looks good you can use your alligator clip to hold the battery in place.
