## Description

Suspend a three-dimensional scene inside solid glass. This 80 mm sphere of high-clarity K9 optical crystal is made for UV laser inner engraving, turning photos, pets, landmarks and 3D models into floating keepsakes that glow when lit from below.

Not all glass engraves cleanly. Ordinary soda-lime glass carries a green tint and trapped bubbles that scatter the laser and cause unwanted cracking. K9 is closer to optical-component grade: crystal-clear, virtually bubble-free and consistent between every blank. Every micro-fracture the laser places lands crisp and exactly where you intend it.

Spheres act like a lens, so xTool's workflow submerges the ball in refractive-index-matched inner engraving oil and holds it centred in a fixture ([sold sperately,](https://core-electronics.com.au/xtool-k9-crystal-ball-inner-engraving-kit-f2-ultra-uv.html) this is a standalone blank). xTool Studio includes a dedicated K9 Crystal Ball preset, and the supplied material QR code loads tested processing parameters for you. There is no trial-and-error before your first engrave.
