These wires with pre-crimped terminals are equivalent to Pololu's [premium jumper wires](https://core-electronics.com.au/prototyping/prototyping-wire.html) without the [1×1 crimp connector housings](https://core-electronics.com.au/catalog/product/view/sku/POLOLU-1900) on the ends. By combining these wires with Pololu's [crimp connector housings](https://core-electronics.com.au/connectors-sockets/crimp-connector-housings.html), you can quickly and easily create custom cables with 0.1" (2.54 mm) connectors that mate with various 0.1"-spaced connectors, including [male](https://core-electronics.com.au/connectors-sockets/headers.html) and [female headers](https://core-electronics.com.au/connectors-sockets/headers/female-straight.html) and [solderless breadboards](https://core-electronics.com.au/prototyping/breadboards.html). Just pick the housing for the correct number of pins, pick the colors and genders for your wires, and snap them into the housings (note: it’s not easy to get the wires back out, so plan carefully!). No soldering is required!

You can easily make cable harnesses or assemblies that branch from one connector on one side to multiple connectors on the other (an example of this is shown in the picture to the right); you can also cut off one pre-crimped end and solder the wires directly to components to make swapping connections easy, as shown in the motor picture below.

The wires are available in eight lengths—1" (2.5 cm), 2" (5 cm), 3" (7.5 cm), 6" (15 cm), 12" (30 cm), 24" (60 cm), 36" (90 cm), and 60" (150 cm)—and up to ten colors:

These are the same colors as those used on resistor color codes and rainbow ribbon cable. The available color options and pack sizes depend on the wire length, as does the wire gauge:

Note that the single-color packs of the 1", 2", and 3" wires are only available in six colors (black, red, yellow, green, blue, and white) while the single-color packs for the 6", 12", and 24" wire lengths are available in all ten colors. The single-color packs for the 36" and 60" lengths were originally available in all ten colors, but Pololu are transitioning to just offering them in six colors (black, red, yellow, green, blue, and white) once the remaining stock of the brown, orange, purple, and gray packs is gone. The multi-color packs of the 1" and 2" wires have ten each of six colors (black, red, yellow, green, blue, and white); the multi-color packs for all of the other wire lengths, including 3", 36", and 60", have various quantities of all ten colors.
