## Description

Four extra wired network ports, connected straight into a Raspberry Pi 5 with a single ribbon cable.

The Pi 5 ships with just one Ethernet port, which rules it out for routers, firewalls, VLANs, network taps and multi-WAN failover builds. This board connects to the Pi 5's 16-pin PCIe connector and adds four RJ45 Gigabit ports, drawing its power through the same PCIe cable so there's no extra supply to wire in.

Each port runs on a Realtek RTL8153 controller, which Raspberry Pi OS supports out of the box, so there are no drivers to hunt down. All four ports share the Pi 5's single-lane PCIe Gen2 link, so combined throughput is shared across the ports rather than 4 Gbps flat out on every port at once. That suits routing, segmentation and monitoring work well.

Getting started is quick:

- Mount the board to the Pi 5 and connect the included 16-pin PCIe cable, minding the cable orientation.
- Add `dtparam=pciex1` to `/boot/firmware/config.txt` and reboot.
- Run `ifconfig` to confirm the new interfaces are recognised.

### Features

- Turns a Pi 5 into a five-port network device, with four added 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports alongside the onboard Ethernet
- Driver-free in Raspberry Pi OS, thanks to Realtek RTL8153 Gigabit controllers
- Single-cable install, powered through the PCIe cable by default with no external supply needed
- Mounting design that holds the Pi 5 securely in place
- Per-port activity LEDs, with green solid for link and yellow flashing for activity
