## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=COM-23649:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/COM-23649:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

This is a right angle 5mm addressable LED. It sounds boring, but at the time of writing, *this is the first one in the world*.

If you've ever tried to get a project into an enclosure, you know what a challenge it can be. Connectors are a bit of work but also straightforward. Oddly, getting a clean-looking, clear indicator to the outside world is trickier.

CBIs, or circuit board indicators, are a common way to get LEDs through the enclosure wall. The problem is that all the current LED suppliers and CBI models are from the 1980s when Modems were the king and needed lots of link indicators. When Sparkfun wanted an addressable RGB CBI for our projects and couldn't find one, so Sparkfun made it!

Inside the opaque 5mm LED is a single wire APA106/WS2812/Neopixel type RGB addressable driver with data in, and data out pins. Using the [FastLED library](https://fastled.io/), you'll be blinking in no time!

Why be locked into a single indicator LED color when you can drive *many* board edge indicators with a single wire, and make them any color or brightness! Welcome to the future.

**Note:** Pricing is for one assembled unit which includes the LED and black plastic holder.
