# SparkFun Qwiic Power Switch

**Type:** Product page · **SKU:** PRT-26784 · **Brand:** [Sparkfun](https://core-electronics.com.au/brands/sparkfun-australia)
**Page:** https://core-electronics.com.au/sparkfun-qwiic-power-switch.html ([markdown](https://core-electronics.com.au/sparkfun-qwiic-power-switch.html.md))

Sometimes you wish you could switch something off to save power, and the SparkFun Qwiic Power Switch (QPS) allows you to do that!...

## Pricing

- **Price:** $16.30 (inc GST) — $14.82 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 5+ $14.37 (exc GST) · 25+ $14.07 (exc GST) · 100+ $13.48 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- Out of stock — the product page offers email notification when it returns.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=PRT-26784:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/PRT-26784:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)
- **Payment methods, purchase orders, policies and contact details:** https://core-electronics.com.au/llms.txt
## Description

The SparkFun Qwiic Power Switch (QPS) gives you the power to manage your Qwiic devices more efficiently. Many Qwiic boards, especially high-power ones like our [high-accuracy GNSS boards](https://core-electronics.com.au/search/?q=u-blox+F9R+F9P), draw significant current even in standby mode. With the QPS, you can selectively turn off these devices to conserve energy and extend your battery life.

However, the QPS offers even more functionality; it includes I2C bus isolation, allowing you to mix 100kHz and 400kHz I2C devices on the same bus without conflict. Isolate slower devices to avoid slowing down communication with faster ones.

For added flexibility, the QPS also provides two extra GPIO pins that can be used as inputs or outputs to control other components in your project. It works seamlessly with the [SparkFun Qwiic Mux](https://core-electronics.com.au/search/?q=16784), enabling you to control and power multiple devices, even those sharing the same I2C address.

Our [Arduino Library](https://github.com/sparkfun/SparkFun_Qwiic_Power_Switch_Arduino_Library) makes integrating the QPS into your projects easy, with comprehensive examples for power switching, bus isolation, and GPIO control. Enhance your Qwiic projects with the SparkFun Qwiic Power Switch and take control of your power management!

*The [SparkFun Qwiic Connect System](https://www.sparkfun.com/qwiic) is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector. This reduces the amount of required PCB space, and polarized connections mean you can’t hook it up wrong.*
