# littleBits Sound Trigger

**Type:** Product page · **SKU:** LBH811 · **Brand:** [LittleBits](https://core-electronics.com.au/brands/littlebits-australia)
**Page:** https://core-electronics.com.au/sound-trigger.html ([markdown](https://core-electronics.com.au/sound-trigger.html.md))

The sound trigger listens to the noise level in your room, and sends an ON signal when it gets over a certain level. You can make that threshold louder or softer using the included screwdriver. We like to use it with an LED to light up your room when you snap your fingers.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=LBH811:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/LBH811:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)
- **Payment methods, purchase orders, policies and contact details:** https://core-electronics.com.au/llms.txt
## Description

Use this Bit to control your circuits with sound. It's a great way to make your inventions hands-free! The sound trigger has a microphone that measures how much noise is around it. When the noise goes above a certain level, the sound trigger will send out an on or 5 volt signal to the following Bits in the circuit. Use the adjustment slider to set the sensitivity (how much noise is needed to trigger your Bit).

This i20 sound trigger bit uses a microphone to detect audio. The audio signal from the microphone is first amplified to increase the sensitivity of the module. Next, the signal is passed through a circuit that behaves similarly to our timeout module: when the peaks from the microphone are higher than the detection threshold, the output is set high. Once the microphone signal drops below the threshold, the output returns low again.
