If you thought the standard Raspberry Pi Camera Module was great, then you'll love the NoIR. It features an 8 megapixel Sony IMX219 sensor and a supporting PCB designed with the Raspberry Pi in mind.

> ⚠ Note: For the camera to be used with a Raspberry Pi 5 an [adapter cable](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-camera-fpc-adapter-cable-200mm.html) is required. For use with a Raspberry Pi Zero this [adapter](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-zero-camera-adapter.html) is required

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=CE04422:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/CE04422:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

The Pi NoIR Camera V2 module features an 8 megapixel Sony sensor with no infrared filter - perfect for capturing photos at night with infrared light.

Images captured at 3280x2464, 1080p video at 30fps, 720p at 60fps and 640x480 at 60/90fps.

The awesome thing about the Raspberry Pi Camera Modules is that you don't have to use any fancy algorithms or software to capture and process images. The Raspberry Pi Foundation created a Python library to handle all of that, and it even includes processing tools such as filters, rotation, and cropping.

Connect to your Pi NoIR via the included ribbon cable to the CSI (Camera Serial Interface) port next to the Raspberry Pi's HDMI port.

To connect to the Pi Zero variants you will need the [Raspberry Pi Zero Camera Adapter](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-zero-camera-adapter.html). **Hint**: There is one included in [The Official Pi Zero Case](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-zero-w-case-enclosure-official.html).
