## Description

Is this not the cutest little display for the Raspberry Pi? It features a 3.2" display with 320x240 16-bit color pixels and a resistive touch overlay. The plate uses the high speed SPI interface on the Pi and can use the mini display as a console, X window port, displaying images or video etc. Best of all it plugs right in on top!

**This design fits perfectly onto the Pi Zero, Pi 3, Pi 2 or Model A+, B+!** (Any Pi with a 2x20 connector) **Not for use with an old Pi 1 with 2x13 connector**. This display is functionally the same as Adafruit's [classic PiTFT 2.8"](https://core-electronics.com.au/catalog/product/view/sku/ADA1601) and [PiTFT Plus 2.8"](https://core-electronics.com.au/catalog/product/view/sku/ADA2298) - same pins used, same resolution, same drivers, but is just a bit bigger. It also has a 26- pins GPIO pins brought out so you can connect a [26-pin Raspberry Pi GPIO cable](https://core-electronics.com.au/catalog/product/view/sku/ADA862) underneath. [It's the same outline as a Pi 3 / 2 / B+ so it fits well on top of a Pi in Adafruit's Raspberry Pi Enclosure base](https://core-electronics.com.au/catalog/product/view/sku/ADA2285).

The display and touchscreen uses the hardware SPI pins (SCK, MOSI, MISO, CE0, CE1) as well as GPIO #25 and #24. All other GPIO are unused. Since Adafruit had a tiny bit of space, there's 4 spots for optional slim tactile switches wired to four GPIOs, that you can use if you want to make a basic user interface. For example, you can use one as a power on/off button. See below for the link to get the optional tact switches, they're not included.

Use it for console access or easily pop up X11 onto the PiTFT for a mini monitor, although its rather small at 320x240. Instead, Adafruit recommend using PyGame or other SDL-drawing programs to write onto the frame buffer.

**Raspberry Pi computer and enclosure not included!** This display comes fully assembled, just plug it onto your Raspberry Pi and install Adafruit's software to rock out. **Please note at this time the Pi Kernel Adafruit have does not come with support for built-in Pi 3 Bluetooth.** There is no ETA when Adafruit will have this fixed.
