## Description

The Official 7-inch Touchscreen for the Raspberry Pi is the best touchscreen for your Pi project. The 7-inch display is large enough to comfortable view any desktop environment and features a resolution of 800x480 pixels, plenty enough! The capacitive touchscreen is accurate and responsive, and with the new onscreen keyboard in the newest releases of Raspbian OS, you'll have all you need for a standalone Pi project!

- **7-inch TFT screen** - With the 7 inch TFT display, you'll have a resolution of 800x480 crisp pixels to display your Pi's desktop environment, be it Retro-Gaming, OctoPrint, Media Center, or Video Kiosk
- **10-Point Capacitive Touch** - With 10 points of contact available for your touch screen, multi-fingered gestures and more are possible right on the display. No keyboard/mouse required.
- **Same-sized Adapter Board** - The adaptor board that runs the screen matches the form factor of the Raspberry Pi. This means you can mount it to your Pi and use a short DSI ribbon to connect the display.
- **Mounting hardware included** - Mounting the adaptor and display together is straightforward, with all the hardware you need included in the package.
- **Power supplied from the Pi** - You don't need a standalone power supply for the screen, simply siphon power from the Pi and it's power supply via the GPIO or USB connectors.
- **Enclosures and Cases** - As it's official hardware, there's plenty of enclosures and cases ([like this one](https://core-electronics.com.au/kksb-case-for-raspberry-pi-5-and-the-official-raspberry-pi-7-touchscreen.html)) available that are rock-solid designs made by Pi Foundation supporters.

**Note: [Raspberry Pi](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi/raspberry-pi-5-boards-kits-and-accessories.html) and [power supply](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-3-power-supply.html) are NOT included in this kit! See the guides below to learn how to setup your screen using the Raspberry Pi's power supply. If you need a complete kit, we've got the [Touchscreen Kit for Raspberry Pi](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-3-touch-screen-kit.html) that includes everything you need.**

### Hookup Guide

The display will *technically* work with the older Model A and Model B boards (connecting it to the DSI port on the Pi board), however the mounting holes on the back of the display will only line up with the newer board designs (A , B and Pi2). For use with the Raspberry Pi 5 an [adapter cable](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-display-fpc-adapter-cable-200mm.html) is required. Once it's all connected up, reboot or power up your Raspberry Pi and it will auto-detect the display and you'll be away!

We're full-time makers and love Raspberry Pi, we've used this display as a monitor in multiple projects and have written some guides on how to get it working, how to enable/disable touch, rotating the display and more!
