Use echolocation to measure distance

## Pricing

- **Price:** $9.55 (inc GST) — $8.68 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 4+ $8.25 (exc GST) · 12+ $7.82 (exc GST) · 50+ $7.38 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- In stock, ships same business day if ordered before 2PM (Australia/Sydney).
- We can dispatch 87 today, and up to 500 more in 6–42 days.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=CE09360:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/CE09360:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

Ultrasonic Rangefinders are great for detecting objects or measuring distance. They rely on echo-location - the same principle bats use to detect obstacles in their environment. These sensors usually require being manually wired into a circuit, so we made the **PiicoDev® Ultrasonic Rangefinder**: a combination of the ubiquitous RCWL-1601 Ultrasonic Rangefinder attached to a smart, addressable, daisy-chainable PiicoDev module. Use the great [Getting Started Guide](https://core-electronics.com.au/guides/piicodev-ultrasonic-rangefinder-getting-started-guide/) to begin with measuring distance and then remix the code to suit your own project's needs!

**Features**

- Great Range - between 0.02m and 4m. Most effective between 0.1m and 2.4m
- Connect many rangefinders together for more complex projects.
- A great [guide ](https://core-electronics.com.au/guides/piicodev-ultrasonic-rangefinder-getting-started-guide/)to get you started
- PiicoDev connector, compatible with Qwiic and STEMMA QT (3.3V only)
- 2.54mm breakout for breadboarding/prototyping
- Manufactured and [supported](https://core-electronics.com.au/contacts/) in Australia by Core Electronics

**Getting Started Guides**

We've prepared a [getting-started guide](https://core-electronics.com.au/guides/piicodev-ultrasonic-rangefinder-getting-started-guide/) that works with Raspberry Pi, Pico, and Micro:bit.
