## Description 

The **PiCam Module** is the mechanical solution to connect a 'standard' Raspberry Pi camera to a [Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 board](https://core-electronics.com.au/search/?q=compute+module+4), without a big dev board. Perfect for making simple camera/vision boards.

The [Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4](https://core-electronics.com.au/search/?q=pi+compute+module+4) **(not included!)** can be plugged into the bottom of the PiCam module. [The camera](https://core-electronics.com.au/search/?q=raspberry+pi+camera) **(also not included!)** is connected to the PiCam module via FFC/FPC ribbon cable. If needed, the camera module can also be mounted directly on the PiCam module, which achieves maximum compactness. The existing mounting holes cover a variety of Raspberry camera modules. Any 15-pin camera should be compatible. Additionally, the PiCam module can also be used for programming the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4.

**Usage Warning:** [According to the manufacturer](https://core-electronics.com.au/attachments/localcontent/picam_manual_eng_33546abedc2.pdf), when connecting the camera sensor, it is essential to ensure that the 15-pin FFC/FPC cable is connected in the correct orientation! Otherwise, everything - the camera module, the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, and the PiCam module will be irreversibly damaged!
