## Pricing

- **Price:** $6.60 (inc GST) — $6.00 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 4+ $5.70 (exc GST) · 12+ $5.40 (exc GST) · 50+ $5.10 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- In stock, ships same business day if ordered before 2PM (Australia/Sydney).
- We can dispatch 63 today, and up to 500 more in 6–42 days.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=CE08038:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/CE08038:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

This **Makerverse™ Motor Driver** is capable of driving two DC motors bidirectionally, or one bipolar stepper motor at 1.6A continuous (2A max), and accepts motor-drive voltages from 3-16V at the VM pin. Either 3.3V or 5V logic can be used. Motor connections can be soldered directly, or you can use the included 5mm screw terminals for easy bare-wire connections. There are two drive modes. By default, the driver is set to Direction Mode - where one pin sets the direction of the motor, and the other accepts a PWM input to control torque/speed. Bridge a solder jumper on the back to use "IN1-IN2" mode, which provides the classic dual h-bridge experience.

**This new, upgraded version features a 5V step-down/buck regulator output, pre-populated current limit potentiometer, and now includes screw terminals and headers.**

The driver features protection for reverse-polarity and thermal over-current - though we don't recommend relying on thermal overloading to protect the driver. Use the on-board trimpot to set your desired current limit - it's set to maximum by default. Most users won't need this feature, but it's useful to protect motors under stall conditions or dialling in stepper motor current limits. Measure the set-current at the test point provided (1.1A / V).

- [Getting started guide](https://core-electronics.com.au/guides/raspberry-pi-pico/makerverse-motor-driver-2-channel-application-guide/)
- Works with both 5V (eg. Arduino Uno) and 3.3V (eg. Raspberry Pi, Pico) logic level devices.
- Drive up to two DC motors or one Bipolar Stepper Motor
- Headers and screw terminals included
- Current limiting
- 5V Regulator output.
    - **Note:** It has a drop-out voltage of 1.5V, which means to maintain a stable 5V, you must supply the module with at least 6.5V. The module can still drive motors at a lower voltage, but the 5V output won't be available.
- Direction-PWM or IN1-IN2 control
- Reverse polarity protected
- 4x M3 holes for easy mounting
- Manufactured and [supported](https://core-electronics.com.au/contacts/) in Australia by Core Electronics

**Tech Specs**

- Operating current (total): 1.6A continuous, 2A peak
- Input Voltage Range: 3-16V
- Dimensions: 35x30 mm
- Mounting Holes are arranged on a 0.1" (2.54mm) grid: 4x M3 Holes, 0.7x0.9" (17.78x22.86 mm) between centres.

**Makerverse Overview**

**Makerverse** hardware is designed for makers, by makers. We're making the tools and modules we think are the most useful to electronics enthusiasts and people that just want to get their projects done. As experienced makers ourselves, we're building in the features and design considerations that we find most valuable and have wished for in other modules.

All Makerverse devices are [![](https://core-electronics.com.au/media/wysiwyg/product_images/Core-Electronics-Original.png)](https://core-electronics.com.au/original) products designed by our team in Newcastle Australia. We manufacture the modules here as well.
