## Description

The **Makerverse Load Cell ADC** allows you to easily read load cells to measure weight or force. Connect the ADC to a microcontroller (eg. [Raspberry Pi Pico](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-pico.html)) and follow the [Makerverse Load Cell Kit Guide](https://core-electronics.com.au/guides/makerverse-load-cell-kit-guide/) to read changes in the resistance of a load cell and convert that to a very accurate weight (after some calibration).

The on-board HX710 uses a custom two-wire interface (Clock and Data) for communication. Any microcontroller's GPIO pins should work and there are many libraries that have been written to make it easy to read data. For the best experience, we recommend following the [Makerverse Load Cell Kit Guide](https://core-electronics.com.au/guides/makerverse-load-cell-kit-guide/) which uses the Raspberry Pi Pico PIO.

Construct your own set of scales at home using a bar load cell! The Makerverse Load Cell Mounting kit makes getting started easy: Assemble your [load cell](https://core-electronics.com.au/load-cell-3kg.html), [fasteners](https://core-electronics.com.au/makerverse-load-cell-screw-kit-m4.html), [a load cell amplifier](https://core-electronics.com.au/makerverse-load-cell-amplifier.html), and [a Raspberry Pi Pico](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-pico-soldered-headers.html) to begin measuring!

**Makerverse Overview**

**Makerverse** hardware is designed for makers, by makers. We're making the tools and modules we think are the most useful to electronics enthusiasts and people that just want to get their projects done. As experienced makers ourselves, we're building in the features and design considerations that we find most valuable and have wished for in other modules.

All Makerverse devices are [![](https://core-electronics.com.au/media/wysiwyg/product_images/Core-Electronics-Original.png)](https://core-electronics.com.au/original) products designed by our team in Newcastle Australia. We manufacture the modules here as well.
