These magnetic discs can be used with Pololu's micro metal gearmotors with extended motor shafts as part of a quadrature encoder system that offers 12 counts per revolution. Appropriate Hall Effect sensors, such as those in Pololu's magnetic encoder pair kits, are required to complete the system. These discs are bulk-packaged and must be ordered in multiples of five. Pololu will package these to order and generally expect orders of up to a few hundred units to ship within a day.

## Description

These are the same magnetic discs Pololu include with Pololu's [magnetic encoder pair kits for micro metal gearmotors](https://core-electronics.com.au/sensors/encoders.html). The disc consists of six evenly spaced magnetic poles (three north-south pairs), which allows for an encoder system that offers 12 counts per revolution.

They are 2 mm thick with a 7.65 mm diameter, and the hole through the center enables them to securely press-fit onto the 1mm-diameter motor shafts of Pololu's [micro metal gearmotors with extended motor shafts](https://core-electronics.com.au/category/141/micro-metal-gearmotors-with-extended-motor-shafts).
