It’s back! This is the LIDAR-Lite v3, a compact, high-performance optical distance measurement sensor from Garmin™. When space and weight requirements are tight, the LIDAR-Lite v3 soars. The LIDAR-Lite v3 is the ideal solution for drone, robot or unmanned vehicle applications.

## Pricing

- **Price:** $244.95 (inc GST) — $222.68 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 5+ $216.00 (exc GST) · 25+ $211.55 (exc GST) · 100+ $202.64 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- In stock, ships same business day if ordered before 2PM (Australia/Sydney).
- We can dispatch 1 today; more stock is typically available with a 5–8 day lead time.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=SEN-14032:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/SEN-14032:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)
- **Payment methods, purchase orders, policies and contact details:** https://core-electronics.com.au/llms.txt
## Description

The LIDAR-Lite v3 is here, and it's glorious! LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is an incredibly precise form of distance measurement and the new v3 sensor from Garmin™ is better than ever.

So what makes these LIDAR sensors so special? Well, their 40m detection range using laser optics is achieved with a current draw of less than 130mA while sensing. You can tweak the base configuration for the optimum balance between accuracy, range, and the time required to take measurements.

The LIDAR-Lite v3 operates on 5V DC which makes it even easier to interface for DIY projects with Arduino, Teensy, Particle, and much more! You can interface to the sensor using an I2C bus or via PWM controls, and it's low power consumption and micro form factor makes it perfect for wearables, drones, and much more.

It's a Class 1 device which makes it nice and safe to use, however, modification to the sensor isn't recommended as operation without the optical lenses and/or housing can cause direct laser radiation exposure. Whilst Class 1 devices are safe for general usage, as with any form of high intensity light (visible or not), **never look directly at the emitter!**

Each LIDAR-Lite v3 features an edge-emitting, 905nm (1.3 watts), single-stripe laser transmitter, 4m Radian x 2m Radian beam divergence, and an optical aperture of 12.5mm.
