**JST SH-style cable family overview**

Pololu's JST SH-style cables are available in a variety of pin counts and lengths. Double-sided versions are available with twisted wires and female connectors on both ends, and single-sided versions are available with a female connector on one end and unterminated wires on the other. These single-sided cables can easily be cut to shorter desired lengths.

The JST SH-style connector has a 1 mm pitch, and the cables are made from 28 AWG wires that conform to UL 1571. For all versions except Pololu's 6-pin cables for Micro Metal Gearmotor Encoders, the black wire connects to pin 1 and the red wire connects to pin 2.
