**JST SH-style cable family overview**

Pololu's JST SH-style cables are available in a variety of pin counts and lengths. Double-sided versions are available with twisted wires and female connectors on both ends, and single-sided versions are available with a female connector on one end and unterminated wires on the other. These single-sided cables can easily be cut to shorter desired lengths.

The JST SH-style connector has a 1 mm pitch, and the cables are made from 28 AWG wires that conform to UL 1571. For all versions except Pololu's [6-pin cables for Micro Metal Gearmotor Encoders](https://core-electronics.com.au/category/277/6-pin-jst-sh-style-cables-for-micro-metal-gearmotor-encoders), the black wire connects to pin 1 and the red wire connects to pin 2. The [4-pin cables](https://core-electronics.com.au/category/349/4-pin-jst-sh-style-cables) are compatible with SparkFun’s Qwiic and Adafruit’s STEMMA QT.
