This is another great LCD display compatible with Gadgeteer modules from DFRobot. With limited pin resources, your project will quicly run out of resources using normal LCDs. With this I2C interface LCD module, you only need 2 lines (I2C)to display the information. If you already have I2C devices in your project, this LCD module actually cost no more resources at all. The address can be set from 0x20-0x27.Fantastic for Arduino or gadgeteer based projects.

## Pricing

- **Price:** $18.50 (inc GST) — $16.82 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 6+ $15.98 (exc GST) · 12+ $15.31 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- In stock, ships same business day if ordered before 2PM (Australia/Sydney).
- We can dispatch 2 today, and up to 350 more in 8–12 days.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=DFR0063:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/DFR0063:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

*Note: This device does not come with the pictured cable, though it can be added to your cart by [visiting its product page!](https://core-electronics.com.au/swd-cable-2x5-pin.html)* This LCD screen is a 16x2 character LCD display with an I2C interface. It features two rows for displaying text, with each row capable of displaying up to 16 characters. The white characters will be displayed on a blue background, providing a clear and visually appealing display. In traditional Arduino LCD display projects, there are often limitations in terms of available pins, especially when using Arduino Uno. Additionally, wiring and connections can become quite complex. To address these issues, this LCD display utilizes the I2C communication interface. This means that it only requires 4 pins to connect the LCD display, including VCC, GND, SDA, and SCL. By adopting the I2C interface, we can save at least 4 digital/analog pins on the Arduino, making the project's connections simpler and more convenient. All connectors are of the standard XH2.54 (breadboard type), allowing you to directly use jumper wires for your connections. To avoid the conflict of I2C addresses with other I2C devices, such as ultrasonic sensors, IMUs, accelerometers, and gyroscopes, the I2C address of the module is configurable from 0x20-0x27. This allows you to select a suitable address based on your project requirements, ensuring that address conflicts are avoided. This LCD display also features adjustable contrast. By manually adjusting the contrast using a potentiometer on the back of the board, you can optimize the display effect based on the environment and personal preferences, ensuring that characters are clear and easily visible.![](https://core-electronics.com.au/media/wysiwyg/product_images/DFR0063_Connection_label.png)
