Designed by fixers, for fixers, the 8in. by 10in. Magnetic Project Mat from iFixit catches and securely holds screws as you pull them out of a device.

Now you can stop worrying about keeping track of all the loose screws and focus on your project. Screws and small parts will remain right where you left them.

The included pen is uniquely suited for the Project Mat. It’s made by Staedtler, producer of top-of-the-line pens and pencils for artists and architects. Their Lumocolor Correctable pen resists smears and won't wipe away with a casual brush of your hand. When your project is complete, the eraser tip or a dry cloth wipes the ink away clean.

The surface of the Magnetic Project Mat is not rated to withstand the direct heat while soldering. It's designed for organizing and securing screws and small parts during the process of electronic projects. For soldering tasks, Sparkfun recommend using a separate, [heat-resistant work surface](https://core-electronics.com.au/silicone-heat-mat.html) to prevent any damage to the mat.
